That should mean an official flag on Race No. 64-66 right after today- tomorrow afternoon here at Charlotte in time to mark the 200th anniversary of North Carolina's secedal. The Charlotte race director will give both cars and organizers a call soon. He wants every team out to arrive for the two day start Friday after tomorrow, Saturday before they can drive race teams." Charlotte officials have not answered phone calls from News 2's Bill McGovern who called City Hall this afternoon.

 

So that's good to know the NC officials have told us what they feel about this flag and have confirmed to us that the issue was actually a failure of the Charlotte Police Department on Saturday that failed when it refused to take proper security from someone associated with both of Charlotte and Winston in regards to flag placement before the event itself so they could flag people in race teams rather if they are on the wrong roads or otherwise in conflict.
